Superstar Libra Cruise Trip 2014 : Penang-Phuket-Krabi

Namaste. This is a massive throwback story about my first (and maybe last) cruise trip from Penang-Phuket-Krabi with my super-sweethearts (my parents) for 4days and 3nights. My parents booked the trip under Hwajing travel for MYR 1500/pax. So we went to Kuala Lumpur on the 1st August 2014 (coco's birthday!) for 3D2N and we stayed at Berjaya Hotel Kuala Lumpur and I feel like I was in gulf countries (ramai gila orang Arab kat hotel ni).

So on 3/8/2014, kitorang naik bas, heading to Penang (the picking up point is right in front of our hotel). The journey took about 4 hours to Penang and we finally stopped at Weld Quay Ferry Terminal, Penang.
This pass will be given upon checking in. you need to hand in your passport to them to have this pass.

After registration and checking in luggage semua, we checked in to our room which was located on the 3rd deck. We have 10 decks (9th and 10th is dining area/swimming pool). The lower the deck is, the cheaper the price of the room. So 3rd deck ni bukanlah deck mewah ye rakan-rakan. We have three single beds in our room. Buka mata in the morning terus nampak seaview, literally seaview. Haha.
We are required to attend emergency drill after check in.
After that, we had late-lunch/dinner kat deck 9. They have few restaurants in the cruise, with 2 halal options for Muslims. 1 in deck 9 and the other 1 in deck 10. So the 1 in deck 9 is included in the package, so you don't need to pay for the meal whereas you need to do so at the restaurant in deck 10 except for the grand dinner, it will be included in your package as well.

Oh ya, for those who has motion/sea-sickness (mabuk laut), I advise you to bring along antiemetics (ubat tahan muntah) sebab biasalah, walaupun kapal besar tapi tetap rasa sikit kapal tu bergerak-gerak. However memang santai la makan atas kapal ni and sangat-sangat meriah sebab dining area tu dekat swimming pool and ramai orang berehat-rehat dekat situ.

After hours of sailing, we reached Phuket the next morning (4/8/2014). A van picked us up from the jetty and took us around phuket.

Santai sangat tu encik abah

They took us to a park for ELEPHANT RIDE. Okay, I think this is where my awareness regarding elephant ride started. When we arrived, I saw a baby elephant with its foot chained under the hot scorching sun. When we were about to queue for the ticket, I suddenly felt that it was wrong to ride elephant for fun. So I told my parents that we should just wait outside and they agreed. I just spend my time at the fish spa before we headed to the monkey temple. (I didn't take picture for the rest of the day sebab dah spoil mood lepas tengok gajah). In the evening, we went back to the jetty and borong souvenirs and tshirts yang dijual di tepi jetty. So we went back to the ship and continue our journey to Krabi.

We reached Krabi the next morning (5/8/2014). Okay, I just wanna say that I love this place so much. If I have the chance to repeat my Asean vacation, I'll definitely include Krabi (other than Bali). Halal food is easier to be found as majority of the Krabi people are Muslims. We bought a lot of street food (insha Allah they are clean and halal) and these foods tasted soooo good.

My king and queen :)
Sawadikappp

Strolling down the roadside. Best gila kedai-kedai dia

Later in the evening we went back to our ship to attend grand dinner. We have 2 options, and we chose the restaurant in deck 10 (specialized in Indian halal food). Memang sedap la makanan dia. After that we lepak at deck 9, watching live performance and makan kacang.
Another halal restaurant. Deck 10.

That night we sailed back to Penang and arrived the next day in the afternoon. Overall, it was fun as I never sail on cruise before but since I am hydrophobic myself, so asyik takut-takut je la. Haha. But I could just lay back and read my books all day on the cruise. Memang relaxing habis. And for those who have small children, don't worry. They won't feel bored at all sebab there are lots of activities on board and they even have magic show performance/class for children, dancing activities, swimming pool and jacuzzi. And for adults, ada live performance, casino, basketball court, pingpong etc. So again, thank you so much to my parents yang sudi bawa anakanda yang pulang ke Malaysia sekali sekala ni untuk bercuti bersama anda. I love you both :)

P/S : please, please exclude elephant ride from your itinerary.
